Today I’m happy: Day 2

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Three things that make me happy today:

  • Although my six year old decided to forgo his art class this morning and despite a somewhat rocky and grumpy start to our day (even though we had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and followed that with a trip to the park), we finally arrived home an hour ago and my six year old proclaimed with a happy sigh that it was a very good day.
  • My six year old mastered his bike (albeit with training wheels) and my three year old mastered his trike and they both rode for hours.
  • I decided to give myself the whole weekend to play instead of starting on my aforementioned new web project and am looking forward to an evening of movies.

Something that would make me happier:

  • Filling my very empty belly.

Solution:

  • Making dinner and/or cookies (these in particular, perhaps the best oatmeal cookies I’ve ever had — which is saying a lot given my status of oatmeal cookie aficionado).

Today I’m happy: Day 1

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Three things that make me happy today:

  • It’s Friday and I’m really ready for two days off.
  • I have a new website project all ready to code and a friend tells me it’s my best yet (and I’m inclined to agree).
  • It’s supposed to be sunny out tomorrow, which means I can take my three year old to the park while his brother attends his art class.

Something that would make me happier:

  • Better reading materials during my bus ride

Solution:

  • Perusing a whole bunch of “must-read” lists as recommended by the internet and adding an assortment to my library hold queue (done!).
